Demonic spirits can cause delusions that contain information from other people’s lives.

A person experiencing hallucinations believes the experience is real. A demonic illusion that uses information from another person’s life can seem very convincing. Reincarnation may appear to be a logical explanation for these experiences—false, but nevertheless seemingly logical.

“Wait a minute! You said these past-life experiences cannot be explained as delusions!”

There are several types of hallucinations. One type may be caused by the body’s chemistry, illness, or other physical conditions. Another may result from altered states of consciousness brought about by things such as:

  • Hypnosis
  • Yoga
  • Eastern religious forms of meditation
  • Biofeedback
  • Various drugs
  • Certain types of electrical stimulation applied to the brain
  • Entering into a trance state to act as a spirit medium
  • Mediumship (a term often used by UFO researchers; the activity involved is essentially the same practice)
  • Remote viewing (a term used by the U.S. military to describe an activity similar to channeling or mediumistic practices)
  • Communication with “spirit guides”
  • Typical activities involved in séance or medium sessions
  • Visualization techniques
  • Any kind of occult activity that invites spiritual contact, such as Ouija boards, Tarot cards, astrology, or consulting a “psychic”

“Why would Satan bother with a great lie about reincarnation? What’s the point?”

Mankind has an innate desire to communicate with God. It is part of our nature because God placed it there. Satan uses every possible means to lead people away from God. He does not necessarily need people to believe there is no god; he only needs them to reject the God of Christianity. One way to accomplish this is through false religious experiences, such as alleged “past-life reincarnation” experiences.

God will judge us by our faith and our actions. According to Christian belief, if we do not believe in Jesus Christ and receive His gift of salvation through faith, we will be condemned. Salvation cannot be earned through good works, so that no one may boast. However, reincarnation teaches the opposite—that if we fail in this life, we simply return again and again until we finally get it right. The tragic deception, according to this belief, is that a person dies only to discover too late that there are no second chances.
