The Theotokos is not “everywhere present” like God.

Only God is infinite and omnipresent. The saints and the Theotokos, as created beings, do not have this ability on their own.

2. It is God’s grace that grants them this ability.

The Theotokos, being “full of grace,” has received abundant grace from God. When we call upon her, it is God Himself who hears and informs her soul. She does not act independently, but through the power of the Holy Spirit.

3. The Church lives this experience of intercession.

From the earliest centuries, Christians turned to the Theotokos and the saints. The countless miracles, answered prayers, and deliverances from danger show that God accepts their intercessions on our behalf.

4. The Theotokos is “Mother of all.”

Just as a mother can listen to many children at the same time, so too the Theotokos, by God’s illumination, can hear all the faithful. Not through human capacity, but through the grace of theosis.

5. Her intercession does not replace Christ.

The Theotokos intercedes, but the final help and salvation come from Christ. As the Church prays: “Through the intercessions of the Theotokos, O Savior, save us.”

👉 So, when someone says: “The Theotokos cannot hear us all,” the answer is:

On her own, no. But by the power of God, the Theotokos hears and helps, as has been proven countless times in the history of the Church.
